Like earlier announced by Maged Samy and Leo Thesykens on a discussing night in the Thema Café in March, Lierse wants to start this summer with the renewing of the Herman Vanderpoortenstadium. The reason is double: on the one hand the increasing of the capacity, on the other hand the optimalisation of the securityprescriptions.
The works contain a completely new platform at ‘Den Berg’ (the stands, planned for the end of August) and a new visitors platform behind the goal at the Hagenbroeksesteenweg (in a later stage).
At the beginning of June, Lierse expects a visit from the Footbalcell of the federal government, that has to give its permission. When there are no problems with that, the city of Lier can make its evaluation.
At the Lisp, at this moment the pitch is dealed with, it’s digged off and replaced. Also in the practice centre in Kessel one works on the grassfield, there’s being a synthetic pitch installed.
To anticipate a probably new licency clause, Lierse made a forestudy about a system for pitchheating. This will be planned within the future investments and must be completed at the moment that Lierse promotes to the first division.
The costs for the renewing of the stadium are writed off at seven years, after that period Lierse wants to play in a complete new stadium at another location.
