Director of Football Neel de Ceulaer and trainer Herman Helleputte left early Wednesday morning to scout a number of players in Egypt. From Wednesday to Tuesday they’ll follow 4 matches in the Egyptian Premier League, in which a number of Egyptian and African players will be looked at.

On Tuesday a Flemish newspaper printed a report that Garry De Graef had signed for Lierse. Lierse don’t deny that negotiations have taken place, but there is currently no agreement.

Lierse have let 4 players go who were at the end of their contracts: Jerome Vanderzijl, Bueno Ernandes, Nico Vaesen and Tim Vleminckx did not have their contracts extended.

The Second division clubs have again received a proposal around the restructuring of the 1st and 2nd divisions.
In the new proposal, the teams finishing 17th and 18th in First Division would each receive 500,000 Euro compensation (so called ‘parachute payments’ in England), 15th & 16th each 750,000 Euro. In total 2.5 million Euro for the 4 first division teams who would drop to 2nd division, as opposed to a compensational payment of 1.5 million Euro which has to be divided amongst the 19 second division clubs. The proposal has not been assessed by the various second division clubs.
