Mustapha Jarju, Lierse’s topscorer, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has received a new contract proposal from Lierse. He explained in an interview after the Lierse-Eupen match.
Jarju: “Lierse has proposed to me a new five-year contract. I like it her, I love this club and it’s supporters, so there is a chance I’ll stay. I find five years a bit long, if I stay, I would opt for a three-year contract. Whether we get promoted to the first division this season or not, will probably not influence my decision. I’m convinced that we will get promoted next season. I’m still realtively young, and still have several years in which to build my career step by step.
