ye1.jpgLierse has been exonerated by the KBVB (Football Association) Appeals Committee from all accusations.
As a result, Lierse will not be demoted to the 3rd division , as the control commission first adjudicated on 20th August 2007.  Paul Put (ex-Lierse trainer) got a 3-year suspension, instead of the lifetime ban that was demanded.

Chairman Leo Theyskens emphasized how important the decision was: “Sponsors have left, we have had to release players, the whole image of Lierse was bad, everyone began to doubt Lierse. Today it’s been proved that the club had nothing to do with the affair. Lierse is innocent, that’s the message today.”

Theyskens added that the club could also now begin to recuperate monies owed: “There are a number of legal cases in which  money is tied up in, that we can now immediately begin to recuperate. I’m not doing this just for the Club, but also as mental and morale damage compensation for every fan who has supported us, and who has had to endure everything in recent years. They deserve this.”
